What are your views on this years spirit week?

Do you like the days that seniors have this year? What do you think could of made spirit week better?

  1. I like the spirit week theme this year. I think the student congress did a good job finding ways that make it pretty easy for everyone to get involved. I must say I am dissapointed that the freshmen won't be dressing up in P.J.'s this year, though. It seems like a tradition that they should.
I think Spirit Week at Groves is a really great experience. I really like that the whole school gets so into it. And although it is promoting unity throughout the school (and it does, creating one large Groves unit), it also creates 4 very competetive groups within Groves. I become very competetive when it comes to the point system between the grades. I won't lie, when we were told to encourage our freshmen in Big Brother Big Sister to dress up, I did have the underlying thought that we may be creating our own threat. Hopefully the seniors pull through after the whole Zombie Day lull.

  2. I am absolutely in love with spirit week. I think that our days our appropriate but my only issue is that the other classes have easier days, which gives them a better opprotunity to get higher sscores.
In previous years for spirit week, I always picked and chose what days I wanted to do, with no intent of doing all the days. This year I have made it a goal to make an effort to dress up everyday during spirit week, even friday even though it feels like its over after field day. My senior year I want over do everything and go out with a BANG!
Although spirit week is a week full of fun, I think most students forget that we have to go to school and actually work...including myself. Its a lot harder to concentrate with a of the festivities going on. How do you guys manage spirit week and school?

  3. I really enjoyed my first spirit week at Groves. I liked how all four grades got to dress up as something different each day other than Monday and Friday. All of the students seemed very involved and I didn’t notice too many kids who chose not to participate. The themes student congress came up with for every grade were very fun and allowed the students to get creative. I thought the class’s T-shirts were really unique for each grade. My favorite day was Wednesday when seniors got to wear togas. I think toga day is a fun tradition that all the underclassmen look forward to. I also really liked how the teachers had the option to participate too. The hallway decorations for each class were a good way to promote spirit week and get the whole student body involved. All of the classes did a great job decorating their hallway and it was interesting to see all of the decorations and designs. The Halloween themed hallway was by far my favorite.

  4. Spirit week is definitely my favorite week out of entire school year. I love how all the hallways are decorated, and seeing everyone’s creative outfits. This year’s theme isn’t my favorite I feel like the theme is kind of unoriginal. Since it’s our senior year I was expecting the theme to be more unique and special, so honestly I was in a way disappointed about this year’s theme. I loved the theme freshman year about books since all of the days were so creative and easy to dress up for. I felt like our grade had some of the harder days to dress up for, I had no idea what to wear for zombie day so I didn’t dress up. Some days I secretly wished that I could’ve been a junior because their days were a lot easier than ours, alien day all you have to do is wear green and make a headband out of aluminum foil. I feel like for the days where each grade has to dress up a certain way that the days should be equal in what you have to wear. Lastly I’m kind of disappointed that I didn’t get counted at all for the days that I did dress just because I attend OTEC. I wonder if the results would’ve been different if otec students and students that have a first hour class at Seaholm would’ve have their outfits counted?
